Tamales Guatemaltecos: A Holiday Classic

Ingredients:

Banana leaves

Corn dough (use Doña Lisa dough to make preparation easier)

Cooked and shredded chicken or pork

Tomato sauce

Olive

Doña Lisa

Instructions:

Cook the dough with chicken broth until it thickens and becomes smooth.

On each banana leaf, place a portion of dough, a little tomato sauce, shredded chicken, and an olive.

Wrap the tamales in the leaves and tie them up.

Cook the tamales in a pot of boiling water for about 2 hours.

Serve hot, ideal for family celebrations.
